Dry shampoo and I are best friends 4ever; the kind that swap blood (sick who really does that?), share a wardrobe and finish each other’s sentences. OK but really, I am obsessed. Dry shampoo is just such a fantastic product! It soaks up excess oil in your hair, refreshes and volumizes in just a few seconds. My hair normally lasts 3 to 5 days since I discovered this product. I know a lot of you out there might think, “Gross, who wants to have Day 5 hair?” but trust me! You just spray a little at your roots, pat it out a couple minutes later, and voila! You have good smelling, extremely fresh, super hot hair in no time. In order for me to help you find the best one out there, I put together my review of the dry shampoo brands I have tried. I hope it’s helpful!
So far Umberto Dry Shampoo is my favorite of all time! It has a really strong spray that shoots out a bunch of powder. Even though it’s white powder, it blends really easily. As you’ll see below, smell is a huge issue for me. This one barely has a scent at all which is wonderful. The best part for me is how soft it makes my hair feel. I sprayed some in my 3 day old roots the other day and my hair literally felt amazingly fresh and soft for a full day and a half more without having to reapply it. I love this stuff! Umberto and I are besties.
Salon Grafix Invisible Dry Shampoo is the worst dry shampoo I’ve tried thus far! I couldn’t find the brand I wanted to try, so I settled for trying something I had never heard of. And seriously, it was SO bad. I followed the instructions (sprayed it on and waited a couple of minutes) and it literally did nothing to my hair; it looked just as greasy as before the spray, if not more so. I was pretty convinced that I must be doing something wrong, so I tried it a few more times on semi greasy hair, super greasy hair, a little spray, a lot of spray, etc. None of it worked. I am sad to report that this product really sucks! Thankfully, Target gave me a refund even though half the bottle was gone. They just marked it on clearance for the next buyer. My warning to you, don’t buy it. Just don’t.
Pssssst! Dry Shampoo is the first kind I ever tried. It works pretty well in my opinion. The only problem I have with it is the pretty strong “hair product” smell it has. It smells like you doused your hair with hairspray, and I don’t like to walk around smelling like if someone lit a match beside me, my head would explode. All in all though, it’s a solid product.
Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo doesn’t work as well as others I’ve tried. I had to spray a ton and the powder that comes out after all that spraying doesn’t absorb as much oil as I’d expect. It does smell pretty good though which is a plus! It’s also really affordable. All in all I have no major complaints about this one, but it’s not my favorite either.
I haven’t tried Batiste Dry Shampoo yet but I really really want to! I’ve heard excellent things about it and I really love that it comes in shades of color to match your hair. Has anyone else tried this? Should I spend money on it? Let me know what your favorite dry shampoo is! I’m always looking for better products to use.
