I found the idea for this smoothie on Pinterest, which linked to Martha Stewart’s version. I made a few modifications based on ingredients I had, and it turned out to be delicious! I will definitely be making this one again.
1 cup ice
1 cup strawberries and blueberries
1/2 cup plain lowfat yogurt
1/2 cup oats
1 tablespoon honey
1 scoop protein powder
1/2 to 1 cup skim milk, depending on preferred consistency
Place ice and fruit at the bottom of the blender and everything else on top. Blend until completely smooth.
Tip: I gave mine a few extra minutes of blending to make sure the oatmeal was completely ground up. Next time I might blend the oatmeal first to make sure it’s a fine powder then add the rest of the ingredients. My hubbie thought the oatmeal added a weird texture, but I didn’t mind it.
